Where is GTA 6 set? Rockstar’s action adventure takes us to the other side of the North American continent, to the East Coast.
Back in September 2022, after the first scenes of GTA 6 were leaked, it was clear that the location would be a city like Miami – but in a modern setting.
But it’s not just that. There is much more behind the locations we see in the game.
All locations in GTA 6
The main part of the game takes place in a fictional Miami, Florida. And this location has been around since “GTA: Vice City”: it is the legendary city of Vice City.
There are well-known hot spots from the real world that have been adopted for the game. These include a stadium and an amphitheater.
However, GTA 6 contains a gigantic map and many smaller locations in and around Vice City. So it’s not just a fictional Miami, there are other parts of Florida in the game.

These are locations and cities that are not located in Vice City itself. Similar to Blaine County in GTA 5, for example, one part of GTA 6 is also the legendary Vice Beach, which we know from “GTA: Vice City Stories”.
The airport, which can be reached by a functional streetcar, is particularly important.

Apart from that, GTA 6 offers a variety of different impressions. The game takes us to shopping centers or forests, for example, which makes for a more varied gaming experience. The indoor locations include:

What does the Map in GTA 6 look like?

But what does the map in GTA 6 look like? According to Reddit user u/MyNeuronsAreFried, the map in GTA 6 could look like this, combining all known locations on a single map.
Reddit user u/StikyLizardStudiosYT has dared to make his own attempt and this map may also come close to the final result we see in the game.
GTA 6 and Expansions after Release?
Although the game world of GTA 6 already appears to be very huge at release, Rockstar Games is keeping the option open to expand it again after the launch. The map is set to grow steadily.
Many cities were deleted during the development phase of GTA 6. However, this does not mean that some of them will not be included in the game after launch.
New cities and missions will be added all the time, which is linked to the expansion of the map. The world map will ultimately be the largest map ever seen in a GTA game.
