With the Cayo Perico Heist, three new weapons have been added to GTA Online, two of which are quite easy to obtain. However, the golden Perico Pistol requires a little more effort on your part. If you want to have this valuable pistol in your inventory, you should read the following lines carefully.
How do I find the Perico Pistol?
You can only take the Perico Pistol as part of the Cayo Perico Heist, as the weapon is in a drawer in the office of drug baron Juan “El Rubio” Strickler.
As this drawer is locked, you first have to search for the key. It is not located on the island, but can be found in one of eight locations in Los Santos.
How to find the key for the Perico Pistol
There are a total of eight different locations in Los Santos and Blaine County where the little key for the drawer can appear. It doesn’t matter whether you are in a public or private session.
The location of the key is marked with a blue symbol. We recommend that you visit one of the eight locations and then change lobbies until it appears directly next to you.
We found the key in North Chumash in front of the restaurant with a security guard.
The key can be found on a sleeping security guard lying in front of a bar or club. If you interact with the person, a small key will be added to your inventory and the following hint will appear:
“You’ve found a small key that gives you access to a locked location on Cayo Perico.”
The key can appear at these 8 locations:
- Del Perro Beach/Red Desert Avenue
- Del Perro/Del Perro Fairway
- Rancho/Capital Boulevard
- Mission Row
- Downtown Vinewood (near the apartment)
- Grapeseed
- North Chumash
- Paleto Bay
Grab the Perico Pistol in the Cayo Perico Heist
Now start the Cayo Perico heist and enter the villa of “El Rubio”. Now visit “El Rubio’s” office, which has a large desk. On the right-hand side of the desk is the locked drawer, which you can now unlock with the key you have found.
Note: Remember that only one player can take the pistol per round. If you play the heist in a team, you must repeat it until every player has received the Perico Pistol.
Now travel back to Los Santos and visit an Ammu-Nation near you. Here you can now get the Perico Pistol for free and you can also upgrade it with the following upgrades:

The Perico pistol is based on a German P08 Luger pistol grip with sights, barrel and chamber design based on The Golden Gun from the James Bond film “The Man with the Golden Gun”.
In GTA Online, the Perico Pistol is an antique pistol with a rounded ivory grip imprinted with a shield insignia on a golden circle. The loading mechanism and the barrel of the pistol are made of gold. The German words “With open arms” are inscribed on the barrel.
